Storytelling is a powerful way to engage audiences, build community, and highlight impact. As leaders and changemakers, we also have an opportunity and responsibility to consider how we are telling. Do our storytelling practices truly align with our organizational values? And what does it actually look like to honor the humanity of those whose stories we tell while contributing to broader change?
In this special 90-minute interactive conversation, you’ll have the opportunity to share stories, explore the science behind the impact of storytelling, and discover the key concepts and tools of ethical storytelling.
Our Presenter:
Michael Kass is the founder of Story and Spirit, a consultancy dedicated to building connections and advancing collective thriving by weaving together facilitation, storytelling, and contemplative practices. Story & Spirit’s clients include Google, The Annenberg Foundation, Prudential, Conveners.org, SOCAP, Techstars, and numerous other clients ranging from grassroots start-ups to established enterprises.
Michael’s interest in ethical storytelling dates back to his fundraising days with My Friend’s Place, an organization in Hollywood that assists and inspires young people experiencing homelessness to build self-sufficient lives, back in 2008. In 2016, he co-authored the Hollywood Homeless Youth Partnership’s whitepaper on Navigating Ethical Challenges in Storytelling. He is a contributor to EthicalStorytelling.com and serves on the Advisory Committee for the International Dignified Storytelling Project.
